14 November 2007 Halfway through the month already. Greg Browne of Locker and Richard of Streamline are ahead for the month with 13 points. Bryan of Focus seems to be buckling under pressure (a bit Chelsea like , really). He's only a point ahead at the moment with Justin Andrews breathing down his neck. All makes for an exciting Christmas. We've got (ANOTHER) International break this week ("Go McLaren" ... Go and don't come back, that is), so we'll see you after that. Good luck. 30 October 2007 Stephanie Davies tops October Looks like someone else is heading for the movies! Stephanie Davies of STL Engineering outdid Brian and Justin by a single point this weekend. This was enough to secure the October glory. With her football brain, already Bolton are talking of replacing Gary Megson with the EPL First Lady of Football (the previous First Lady was Jose Mourhino). So now let's go to November. Big games starting with United and Arsenal on Saturday. United are looking good, but as my mother use to say to my ugly Man United supporting brother, "Don't worry, Love, looks isn't everything." Thirty games plus one or two catch-ups this month. Let's find ourselves another winner.
23 October 2007 So our short month is now hotting up: Stephanie Davies, Justin Andrews, and of course, Brian Russell are all on seventeen points for October, with Richard de Rozario at Streamline Logistics, Phil at Caem Australia, Greg Browne at the Locker Group and Michael Orr of STL Engineering all picking up sixteen. One more Round, so who's picking up the movie tickets this time. I'm sure Brian is sick of the cinemas by now! I think the last game of the weekend between Liverpool and Arsenal will be the decider. Liverpool were somewhat lucky to win last weekend, while Arsenal easily won 2-0 against Bolton - and Bolton were lucky to get that many! Chelsea are at home to Manchester City. I believe when John Terry asked Avram Grant if they should talk tactics, Grant said he hated peppermint, so I don't like their chances. Well good luck, all. Our pics of the week
2 October 2007 Perhaps it'll be Paul Andrews. He too scored an eight in the last, but still fell four point short. Good luck all.
TRUE STORY 18 September 2007 Another great week of tipping for Brian at Focus. Along with Adam Woledge, he scored another seven taking him three clear at the top of our table. But for the month of September, and two more movie tickets, keep an eye on Justin Andrews who may just have what it takes.
3 September 2007 Great start to September for Richard at Streamline, Kennedy and Bergin Hussein. A bit of a break now for the Internationals, but back into it in the middle of the month. Good luck.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
28 August 2007 BRIAN'S FOCUSED Well, that's August done, and Brian from Focus Fitness made a last minute dashed to secure a two pint lead in our comp. With 20 points in August, there's a couple of movie tickets heading his way. But also a great round for Jason from Abrasifex, Phil from Caem and Ian Howells - all scoring an awesome seven. Good luck for September! 20 August 2007 Another thing, Chelsea would be great at an empty swimming pool. Their inclination to dive would solve all our problems. I wasn't going to but I can't help it. Go City! It seems Streamline Logistics Systems' $200 was pretty save this week with the top score of five a long way from ten out of ten. That said, well done Brian and Phil. Brian now shares the lead at the top of the table with Greg Browne and Roger Leather. Well with one more round for August, lets see who is going to collect on the first prize for the season. Good luck all. 16 August 2007 Also our ten from ten for Round three is sponsored by Streamline Logistics Systems. So get your tipping brain in gear and lets see if we can force some money out of our sponsors. Three glorious games without Ronaldo But more importantly, I noticed all those Man United tipsters on our list. So what's the excuse... are you guys trying to make Roy Keane look good. Ronaldo was obviously having an off day. First he forgets to dive in the box, then he gets himself sent off ... go figure. As for Chelsea... again, who cares. Good luck on the weekend, all. Don't forget we've got a couple of movie tickets happening at the end of August. 14 August 2007 Remarkable 7 for Orr & Browne Not a bad start for Michael Orr and Greg Browne with an impressive seven from ten. Perhaps they too are collecting and framing tables! A long way to go yet. Round Two kicks off tonight. Roger Leather our winner from last year's comp is showing his style again with six and will probably be hard to beat again this year. We'll see. Good luck everyone! |
